10 YEARS Bassist Says New Album Is 'So Different' From 'The Autumn Effect'
January 23, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports: 10 YEARS has set April 8 as the release date for its sophomore album, titled "Division". A first single, called "Beautiful", will head to rock radio stations in the next couple of weeks. The Tennessee-based group began recording the new disc in June after spending more than a year writing the songs. Bassist Lewis Cosby told The Pulse of Radio that fans should expect a lot of changes from the band's 2005 debut, "The Autumn Effect". "I think this record really is so different from the last one," he said. "It's still 10 YEARS, people aren't gonna be like, 'Oh my God, you know, it's a totally different band.'But you couldn't take one song off this new album, I think, and put it on the last album and have people not go, 'That song feels out of place compared to the rest of the songs on 'The Autumn Effect'.'It just sounds like it would be from a totally different album, which was, you know, the goal."
One tune on "Division", titled "Focus", was co-written with former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ARMY OF ANYONE guitarist Dean DeLeo.
Other tracks on the disc include "Actions & Motives", "Just Can't Win", "Dying Youth" and "Chemical Christ".
10 YEARS has yet to announce its tour plans.
